Rule No.1 - I don't do "first come, first served." I hope that's sufficiently clear for everyone.

You must have 60 radiance as an absolute minimum to sign on for this raid; 70 is better. Please state your current radiance total when putting your name down.

If you are selected, please ensure you are

On time!
Properly traited
Properly kitted out (i.e. your Rad armour is on your alt, not in the bank!)
In possession of adequate quantities of food & pots.
Familiar with the Teamspeak Guide (http://www.raidsrus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=802), the DN Loot Guide (http://www.raidsrus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=867) & any other relevant Guides (regardless of how out-of-date they are - there is still useful info in them).
I do not like hanging around for people without the courtesy & consideration towards others to ensure they are where they should be & ready at a time advertised well in advance. Fail on any of the points above (especially the first) and you WILL be penalised. If you don't want to be considered as a reserve, say so. If you are listed as a reserve I expect you to be on time & ready, just like everyone else, in case someone else lets us down. Actually I expect you to be there anyway if you've signed up, as you will realise if you have bothered to read the Loot guide! ;)

Name in normal - signed up; name in bold - selected; name in italics - reserve; name in strikethrough - no-show. If you need to withdraw, please confirm absence as soon as you can.

Have to say was nice going in blind and seeing what happens rather than just being told this is what happens and this is what the tactics are and I wouldn't want to deprive anyone who hasn't been there yet of that pleasure. That said it is quite clear that if we are to defeat the first bosses we need to understand the mechanics of what they are doing and have a clear plan about how we deal with it.
It is upto the raid leader how he decides to organise the raid but I feel RRU could do with getting a few victories after all the recent wipes and it would be beneficial to either have a tactics thread to discuss what we are doing before the raid or to spend sometime after the first wipe discussing what is happening and how to handle it.

Even if you know the tactics perfectly well in theory, you can still fail repeatedly and miserably. After all, we managed to down Watcher how many times during last 7 months? Was it 3?
It's fun to go in blind when things are new, but it's not very clever to just shut off any advice from people who been there before if your raid group is already struggling with putting any tactics into practice for half a year. I'm just tired of wiping and irritated by... well, many things. I think Rhy feels the same but he can speak for himself.

Thrandul hunter 70 radiance, on your use in Thursday.

I wonder if i can apply to this raid when i have 50 rad. But i can get 60rad with DP.

Dellannan
28 Jul 2009, 02:19
Degorond, you need to use DP if you have 60 rad, to get up to 70. So alas it wont work with 50 rad.

I can join with Dellannan 70 rad, or Hallandar 60 radiance if you need any of them.
Want to see those two trolls dead at the same time on this run.

ok ... well ...

I do now have a regular group in another game that runs tuesday-thursday, so theoretically I'm booked, but if the whole thing would fail because of lack of tanks otherwise I can come, but I would pleeeease need to know by about 18:00ish UK times tomorrow if its gonna happen so I can let them know if I'm there or not.

Only please let me know on time if this one should be canceled - cause if I tell my other group I can't come only to have this one not happening too ... I shall be somewhat ... annoyed. ;)

Provided no-one lets the side down, we have exactly 12, so the raid is on. Evening - I'm going to need you on Gorli this time, unfortunately.

Greeting, I want to apologise again about "be late".
Im living in different time zone as GMT is, exactly +1H of European Time. But we have a "summer time" what makes another +1H time shift, as i found on some "timezones" website. I dont know why, but the another +1H isnt right, me was 20:30 and you was starting and i was expecting, that we starts at 21:30 at "mine" time.
After all i was delayed "not so much" but still was delayed, that was shame |:(

At all and last... was it fun. Glad to be with all of you there in Dar Narbugud. Great playing after long time for me, not only "pew-pew" action ;) Good old times in Rift or Helegrod was for me yesterday back, where you need TO PLAY, not just play.

I hope we see you again in another run(s) of RRU's events.

Sincerely,
Catheriel

Well ...usual wipefest (or lets call it good practise at learning to avoid pools and stuff) and Raed didn't actually sound grumpy in the end so thats a win!

Followed by one nice smooth and fast turtle soup afterwards.

So, how did you lot do? I fell asleep on the sofa, so wasn't online to hear.

We tried out some new stuff. I do actually have tactics. I also don't appreciate the public back-biting from you two in this thread. I am not a punch bag for your frustrations (most of which you know damn well I share!). The group still wants to try beating it ourselves & not go looking for someone else's tactics, so that's what we'll continue to do. I will also keep asking at the end of each raid if that's what the group wants to continue doing until such time as we either succeed or they change their mind and say "let's find out what works".

Catheriel - don't worry, just don't do it again. ;)

Rukis - Worry. That's twice you've failed to be online on time on the right alt; twice you've been the one holding the raid up. My rules are quite clear. You are now well down my list of people I would prefer to have in the raid. I'm not refusing to take you again, but if we've got more than 12 for a run & you're left out, you'll know why...

Catheriel
31 Jul 2009, 11:35
Catheriel - don't worry, just don't do it again. ;)

Ill do my best to dont make it again... stupid timezones, Daylight saving time, Central European Time, GMT, atc 8-)
Ill trust next time to the Vista second clock, which Ill set to GMT time.

Rhyaehar
31 Jul 2009, 12:19
Catheriel: It's best if you just view GMT time as "whatever the hell the time is in the UK". Most of us are too lazy to think about BST or GMT so we just slap GMT down. On this forum, GMT = UK time, summer time or not. And as you know, RaidsRUs definitions > normal world definitions.

Dellannan
31 Jul 2009, 12:19
Catheriel - They usualy, if not always, gives the time in bst (uk) time. If they have writhen gmt, ignore it, to treat it as it should be bst. That means that you can always add one hour to the time that is written, and you wont be late.

Just dont blame me if they suddenly gives the time in cet.. But adding one hour to the time have always worked for me so far, despite what they have written.

[Edit: Gah, Rhyaehar beat me with a second, but it says the same ;) /Edit]

Raedwulf
31 Jul 2009, 12:23
You'll notice I'm cheating and just writing "UK". Saves me trying to remember what we're on at the moment... ;)

Hirion
31 Jul 2009, 12:58
Catherial glad you liked it - it was great having you with us, and I expect we'll join up again in the near future.

As for timezones in general, I think it is very confusing using GMT as synonymous with BST (UK time) in the summer, as it handicaps the people actually knowing their timezones! Using BST people not knowing would at least stop at a new word and be prompted to google it to figure it out. In spite of my methodical nature I would in fact then prefer not using GMT at all, but just use the blunt UK time, as then no one will be confusing it (at least in a way that can be helped:lol:) - neither those knowing their GMT nor those not in the know. Using the term UK time also keeps terms and timezone differences stable throughout the year. Alternatively the /servertime command could be used, but the problem is that people in doubt would have to log in to figure a raid sign up on the forum.

Raedwulf, yesterday was really enjoyable. And despite having been utterly wasted by those trolls a fair few times by now, the spirit seemed ever high. In large parts you are to thank for that keeping us motivated in a light tone. No this is not backbiting; this is reckognition (from someone I believe had not raided with you as raid leader prior to DN).

Catheriel
31 Jul 2009, 13:17
Uhm... okay... ill set the "second clocks" to London time 8-)

Or its a great idea to decorate the interior of my home with 3-4 clocks with signs "home time", London, Auckland, Tokio

Thank you for the kind words, Hirion. No, you haven't. I haven't led a raid since SoA & the Rift, which was before you joined us. We haven't had anything else worth leading up to now!

About being late..

When there is raid night I'm very excited! If i can I go out the day before or same day and prepare food, tokens, scrolls and traits on the alt. When it is time I want to get to the place so we can start on set time and not start to gather at that time.

Played this game long time now but always excited for raids, dont know why :)
