Soooooo... The invite group went in, we got our arses kicked. That's all I'm telling you. If I can, I'm going to do 2 "blind" groups in the next 2 weeks. By blind, I mean selecting people who have no experience of the place at all, as far as possible. Work demands on my time means that I can only do one run this week, & the next run will be the following Thu, the 23rd. As far as I can possibly do so, both runs will be blind. If I choose you and you have been in DN before I expect you to keep your mouth firmly shut!! Be warned, I will not tolerate "mistakes" where this is concerned - don't spoil it for other people.
As I've already said, I want to give as many people as possible the chance to see the new content, preferably as brand new. Therefore... If you're not picked this week, don't despair - there's next week. Those that went in as part of the invite group are bottom of the list for the sign-up group. I'll take anyone & anything , only...
You must have 60 rad minimum.
Trait as you would for somewhere you've never been before, somewhere where you don't know what's likely to be be coming.
Try to have 70 rad if you can; it helps...
Try not to be a CHM - I'm expecting to lead on Raedwulf. ;)
Read The F***ing Guides ;) - make sure you know what RRU expects of you. Read the newest appropriate guides you can (some of which may date from SoA; doesn't matter, they're still useful).
Make sure you are fully repaired, kitted out with food, potions, & etc. I will not be impressed by anyone who isn't - you've 4 days to sort yourselves out.
Other information, etc, as & when...

Just a quick question raedwulf or mabay even rhy , will this raid eventually be similar in sign-up as say the other raids or is it always gona be the invite group does there thing and this sign up group does theres or will the 2 merge to just a bigger sign up group where the raid leader picks the group?

Ack well I can go on whatever really hunter or minstrel but I think 60 radiance without a hope buff wont cut it, aye you can get destiny but if you die in the boss fight your screwed so I would say make 70 a min requirement and get ppl to pull the finger out and get those +15 bits, unless you are indeed gonna hit the rift or sumthin.
If memory serves it was 160 gloom so 60+50= 110 leaves you with 50 gloom and a cowering person.

The problem with saying things like this is that we are unable to beat DD reliably anymore (most of us haven't seen Gurvand die at all post book 7), which immediately limits our available radiance. Unless we are willing to put in the effort to help those who didn't do DD back when it was easier, or invite people to groups to take watcher pieces, 70 radiance isn't really something we should demand.
its not about demanding its about , common sence, 70 radi is a must have , be it either a watcher piece or a rog/hele buff, haveing had great sucsess with the watcher recently , why not concentrate on gearing up by making 2 watcher raids , mabye a mid week one and a weekend one

I'm just thinking about it logically. If we require 70 radiance from everyone, we are assuming they have done one of the following in addition to collecting 2 of the 3 new pieces
- won watcher pieces
- beaten DD HM
The number of people in RRu that have done either of these post book 7 is *very* small, even amongst our most skilled players, which rules out the 'skill check' argument. Making these a requirement is to essentially rule out anyone who didn't do DD early or didn't run their alts through it, which leaves us very short-handed, especially with people choosing to run with their kins.
While it might be harder to run with 60 or 50 people, it is possible with the right preperation and may very well be a necessity until we have a few bosses on farm mode to hand out items, aka rift boots. And thats really the crux of the matter; do we want to put in a little more effort beforehand to allow more people to come along, or set a higher bar so we need less preperation but have less players/classes to choose from? Both are valid stances to take, but you can see how the choice affects players.

The truth is, I don't know at this point in time. I was hoping / expecting there to be somewhat more enthusiasm now that we've actually got something proper to raid. So far, apart from yourself (who has already been in anyway), the only people that have signed up have been from the group that went in Sunday evening. Whether that's because of the time of year with people being out & about / away more, because people haven't got enough radiance, or something else, I don't know.
With the number of people supposed to be active at the moment, I would have thought we'd be able to manage two entirely different raids a week i.e. at least 23 players interested, given that initially I will be leading both. If you then start taking alts into account, we could perhaps manage 3 a week, with some people going in twice. If we start getting successful, then I'd expect that either to draw people back to the group, or to draw more new people it, & that certainly ought to make for a 3rd raid.
I posted the first runs for this week & next because I thought most of you had had time to make the necessary number of runs at the new instances to pick up a couple of 15 rad pieces to make some of the 50's up to 60 & 60's up to 70; and because I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that people would be getting impatient to see the new content, never mind any successes at the Watcher. Since this doesn't seem to be the case, there will not be a raid this week, and I'm not going to post another one until I get some demonstrable demand from RRU to do so. Basically, the soonest I can now see another attempt happening will be somewhere in the region of the 25th-28th July.

Patience, young padawan... ;) That's partly the problem from your point of view, I think. You do strike me, at least, as an impatient sod at the best of times! ;) My suspicion is that time of year probably has a lot to do with this. It is summer, after all...

speaking for myself, I'd happily sign up if I had 60 or 70 radiance, but I haven't gotten round to doing the 15-rad instances yet, because yes, it is summer!((removed due to irrelevance))
Anyway, I'll try and get some 15 rad instancing going over the weekend so I'll be ready for the next runs.

60 ok thats doable , 50 is impossible, theres nothing you could do to stop yourself cowering with that much. Having 60 means you need destiny or hope buff as in NEED. 50 is just a no go thats not just my opinion its fact.
Oh and you can also get the helm from turtle :P
i cna join you with Rukhs The RK. Got radiance only 6 ..

Oh, fair enough, i was under the impression that they stacked given the number of people that were buying DP hope after already having the link buff on the last watcher run i attended. Also i'm never sure how the bounder cap factors in as they change it every few books (i think currently it stacks with everything except the hope token)

Running Hall of Mirrors and the WW instance both 4 times will also give you 30 radiance. Those are nice, relaitvly short & easy instances, rather doable. Granted, they aren't the very best out there, but it's a relative easy way to get that much needed radiance.
