You'd better make it Friday or Monday. I won't be available Tue-Thu this week (Rugby training, 5-a-side, Work thank-you-for-getting-huge-project-right piss-up at company expense! :D).

I see myself on the list, does it mean my payment still stands? ;p

Edit: if, lets just make it today?

I'm happy to bring my minstrel along to this if required. I'm still not 100% confident playing him but if no one else wants to go i'd be glad to gain the experience.

My guard could use the shadow mit armour (Durin's gold coins) so wouldn't mind rolling on that if possible.

I might be around. If I am, nab me. I need the shoulders as well though, I warn you. :)

...

Update: If it's helping a watcher raid for Eik to get them, if I do come I'll forego my roll.

Chance i'll be around, would prefer to bring Deri to clear out some stuff from the log, but will bring Tari if need be.

Thanks to Halbot & my kinnies who came out to play! One thing I noticed about tanking the main boss. Previously when I've been in here, the main tank has been kiting him around (literally round) the room. We had a slightly weird group yesterday, with GDN, WDN, BRG, RK, CPT, & MNS. No LM debuffs or disease wipes, no CHM for clobber, no HNT to shoot the mushrooms, all of which made life more than a little awkward (read: we wiped 2 or 3 times).

In the end, what I found worked best, once you have the aggro, is to run back & forth across the room. It's easier by far to keep out of the mushroom smog; that means the Lost One pulls off far fewer of his special attacks, because he spends more time chasing you; you get to the other side, shoot him a couple of times, smack him with shield bash, maybe vexing blow, which keeps the aggro up, then run through him to other the side again; and that last quick return means that the high damage special attack he just initiated either mostly or completely misses you. As a tactic, this also fits much better with my published theory of Main Tanking, which is that it is your job to keep the main boss as still as possible, so that the rest of the group can work round him. If you're kiting him around, he's going to hit people with AoE stuff; if he's only initiating that at the sides of the from, everyone has plenty of opportunity to avoid him. It took longer than on other occasions, but was nevertheless a reasonably comfortable victory in the end.
