A 666 Tonight [Moria instancing]

Six people. Six instances. Six coins.

Many of us miss various coins on various instances, and having the full set on my raiding captain I'm beginning to consider getting my burglar up to speed, but I really don't have the heart to do any given instance countless times untill luck strikes.

That's why I want to setup a fellowship tonight committing to six runs, making sure each and every one earns a coin for their effort. However, getting 6 for one instance is a little more tricky - and doing one instance 6 times quickly gets boring, even if the pratice and teamwork makes it faster along the way.

Therefore we'll do 6 instances - each run according to the coin wishes of one player. I know some instances take longer time - either from getting to the boss or not nailing it in the first attempt (I personally only fear Dark Delvings and 16th) - but I'm okay with that, though I will be suggesting to start out with the easiest and/or shortest runs. Also, bear in mind that on the runs where you are not designated coin-winner, it's possible to bring other alts to the benefit of the group balance for those instances (though I understand remaining quests or deeds might make some prefer brining a set character even if not designated coin-winner).

I know this is with ultra-short notice, but I only now realised I'd be available for 6 runs tonight. However, if this setup is agreable, I'll be happy to do it again in the future.

I can start at anytime tonight, so I'm open for suggestions to move it to get a full team, but for now I'll propose starting time at 7 BST / 8 CET. Please note coin-winner and coin-instance(s) and possible participating alts below:

Pellinor 60 BRG (Prefered coin from Forges, Fil Gashan or Skûmfil).
Stand-in Alts: Captain and Hunter (60).

Please commit to 6 runs - but if in doubt about having the time, then at least expect to be served last.

Thank you supporting the idea. I know it's short notice - but I just realised, I've got a meeting tomorrow night, family get-together Thursday, another meeting most of the weekend and I'll be on call at work next week, so now was the time to try this. If people like the idea I'll be happy to do similar stuff again.

And people not needing coins are certainly and absolutely welcome. If short I'll will also try to call in a few favours from friends or otherwise recruit people for the 6 runs, but I understand if someone not needing or having interests in the coins might want to pass.

But basically I really dont want to PUG anymore challenge modes - at least not when aiming for a coin. Much better aiming at drawing on RRU, kin and friend's list.

EDIT: P.S.: not that PUGs cant do them, but I'm just tired of seeing people bail out on a 6-run deal fractions of a second after getting their coin.

It's certainly an idea. On the other hand, there is no way I personally would commit to making 6 runs in one evening, which seems to be what you're suggesting. I suggest you immediately revise your idea to a fellowship that commits to getting one coin per member over the course of... A week or whatever. Then you break & reform it, or go round again with the same members, whatever.

We've already done this with a group half Nimminas, half BotStick (although that was specifically for the shoulders). It worked very well & no-one let anyone else down. Eik still needs coins (chest, helm, gloves) & Raed or Ang are happy to help out if they can get some quests & deeds out of the way. But not 6 in one evening, no way! ;)

Food for thought. I know I'm biased from my lotro-addiction often having me playing late. :x

But barring a certain unnamed instance, most of them can be done in reasonable time. I do see the merit in dividing it over more than one session, but I guess I'm a bit weary taking on coordinating it over several evenings - but I agree it might be the next logical step

Probably won't be on until late tonight, but just wanted to voice my support for the idea, be it consecutive runs in one night, or a little spread out over the course of a week. still needing the items from 16th Hall and DD, I'm happy to come along on any runs when available.

I would love to join on either Baro or Borkis, but tonight I'm doing a Epic Book run with my Kin, we have alot of people around lvl 50 these days.
Sooo good to hear that 16th Hall is considered a little too hard, I was afraid that last run we had was us failing something everyone else could do...

Baro - I've actually looked a little into that since we were there last. And yes it is definately harder - but then again with the right tactics it used to be a redicilously easy fight at the end of a long fight to get there. Most importantly the mushrooms needs more "attention" than they used to, and then the healer(s) need to be better at kiting...

Well I for once don't consider 16th to be hard, but rather boring. I had enough of this one...
As Hirion says, with the right tactics it's been fairly easy before and is just a bit more challenging now.

I'd certainly be interested in joining such a group - as I still need one piece each on my LM and guardian, and well 5-6 pieces each on RK and champ *sigh* so you could say I'm ... flexible ;)

However knowing my own endurance I don't know if I could really manage 6 runs in a row ... so it would really depend on the mix as the lenght of instance differs a bit, and I'd strongly suggest maybe splitting it up into two evenings.

Anyways I'd either like to get the helm for my LM if people are daring enough to brave DD, or else trousers or gloves for my RK (Skumfil or FG). In any case I shall be hanging about at the appointed hour in case we do get enough people (or helpers even) for the idea. ;)

Well in the interest of clarification (and given that we may have quite a few non GMT timers) you could always just include the CET as well? Which in this case should be 20:00?

Yes CET is equal GMT +2 (untill summertime ends on the 25th October) and thus 6 PM GMT is 20:00 CET (your and my time zone I believe).

Think this is a great idea. I will be on later though so if anyone still doing the runs will be glad to sub with my Champ (has 6/6 gear) or my minstrel. Minstrel needs any of the FG, DD or 16th Hall instances.

To be honest... I would not be happy with doing 16th hall on this set of runs either ... it just takes to fricking long ...

But I would suggest setting up a separate group of 6 for it (who all need the coin and WILL be there all evenings or else *raises her big stick*) and to do that in the course of several evenings ... I for one have helped at least a dozen people get their shoulders ... and have got one set of shoulders to show for it myself so am a bit reluctant to do more runs in there without at least an assured shoulder coin for myself so to speak.

Thank you to all who participated - both the original 6 and especially the stand-ins along the way.

We ended finishing 3 Fil Gashan runs, as all had alts needing that and Aikanaron, Notiane and I were the lucky winners. No specific next session was decided upon at the outset, but I expect people, those of us winning a coins that is, to pitch in for the other three to get theirs (Daphne more than anyone - who was in on all 3 runs). When the last people disbanded we talked of trying to meet up tomorrow night to see how many we can gather for another go around 8 or 9 CET.

I think the form is workable, but probably with two dates set at the sign-in next time and I'll know now not to get bogged up in GMT but to stick to BST and CET...

On the agenda is getting a radiance piece for those signing up for the first run earlier this week but didnt get one yet. As far as I recall, and mentioned above, it will be two Fil Gashan runs and one in Dark Delvings.

Rufus is the only one who havent responded yet - with him we'd have been the original six - but if he's unavailable I'm certain we'll find a helpfull replacement.

Raedwulf, I appreciate you take on it, but let's see if we can't make all 3 runs.

Bothorn, I am not sure it was mentioned in this thread, but when the six of us got together we quickly decided that several would be happy to commit to 6 16th Hall runs it was beyond the scope of what we could do then (starting out with only one night and 16th taking quite a while). I'd be happy to form or join a group pledging to do 6 16th Hall runs (and I know of more who would), but I think to do that it would be needed to agree on several dates in advance (this impromptu idea not even succeeding in 6 runs on shorter instances in one session).

I'll expect to come online soon - and for the rest of this 666 to see you at 7 BST/ 8 CET. Rufus toss a message here or ingame if able and planing to help out tonight.

Six 16th hall runs is like 7hrs of play time not to mention breaks and or the odd wipe. Whoever joins that is off his head or has farrrrrrr to much free time, lol

That is why it was not including in this constellation, but also why many would prefer to do it with people committing to do it again - so the 6 runs wouldn't be on one night, nor two, but at least 3 or more, and setting the dates in advance.

We started yesterday evening with FG and got the gloves for Daphne. After that we went to DD but that didn't go to well with Gurvand.

Was reading a bit about him, but apparently it seems you can still interrupt his debuff. Maybe next time bring a champ or another class that can interrupt quick and often.

I actually got a few debuffs interrupted - and I think I might have done better on that attempt were we almost got him. I'm guessing I should safe my Addle for when he does that (and he's immune to my other interrupt leaving me with an addle every 15 seconds).

I have to add that I found DD much more enjoyable than it used to be. Also Aikanaron, shout when you want another go at getting you your coin.

As for other 666-similar arrangements I suggest starting new threads.
