View Full Version : The Rift - Chain link farming - 14th & 15th of April, 19.30 GMT

As requested by Notiane, let's do some chain link farming. We'll clear Rift on the first day, passing locks to as many alts as we can get (any 49+ should be ok). On Wednesday, we'll repeat the Balrog several times in order to get a few chain links for future Watcher runs.
I prefer some experienced people for the Rift, at least the first day. It's in no way first-come first serve, I will pick a team. On the Rog farming, we can be more flexible. Goal is to clear the Rift on day 1.
We gather at the Bree West Gate, at 19.30 sharp. If you're not there, you won't be coming.

Not much of a problem Tari. I just want to start in time, so you'll have to sit out on the first farm run on Wednesday ;) By the looks of it, we'll have plenty of folks about to do him 3 or 4 times.
Also, a note to all. I just added all alts of level 50+ to the list. I'll try to get the best possible setup every run, so you might be asked to switch to an alt you haven't played in a while. Any preferences on day 1 will be taken into account.
Chain-links will be handed out to people that are regularly available for raids, on characters that are requested frequently. An alt that hardly ever makes it to the raids, will not be given a link. I hope you all understand this.

Apparently my girlfriend has other plans for me tonight so I'll have to cancel, hope to be about to help tomorrow though.
I cannot come tonight as I'm out of town. I am ready for no less than 5 runs tomorrow on the inherited locks for us to get as many links as possible, bringing either captain, hunter, burglar, minstrel, and/or loremaster.
I have not been in the Rift with the RRU before and I have been there five times at most with other people - but I'll do my best to rise to the challenge.
Just to let you know, I still got all 8 locks from the Rift on Evelynn. So there's a good chance we can do the farming runs tonight after all.

Seems the same happen to Codemasters - the servers all crashed a few minutes ago. Let's hope they're up and running for the Rift run in an hour.

Just noticed the same, guess we'll see what when if...
They've found some fresh cheese for the hamsters in their threadmill - the server is back up!
Back up but yesterdays locks are apparently all ... gone (and were even before the crash at least on my champ)

From what I've gathered here (http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5101964&postcount=10), locks have been shortened on the Rift to allow multiple runs a week. They didn't communicate this, and Quixotic will follow up with the developer responsible to see what's going on. Apparently, locks reset early sunday-, tuesday- and thursday morning.

It's a shame...for several reasons
Bad communication sucks.... however there are still groups of inexperienced people in LOTRO, how would they ever be expected to clear the Rift in 2 days :).... it's elitist
Anyway...notwithstanding that a group of us went and had lots of fun in the Battle of Lorien. So thanks for those who came along!!
We even managed to do the first challenge too!

Moreover in our case the lock reset early Wednesday morning... so how do they explain that?

Thank you and thank you too. It was a pleasure and I'm already very much looking forward to my next chance as a hobbit-on-a-stick appetizer!

Well, it was all self-inflicted, I promise! But with those banners stuck in your backside I cant decide whether I look more like a canapé at a cocktail party or like a samurai in a japanese movie
