The Rules
Preamble: Unless contradicted by anything below, the normal RRU raid rules apply.
1) This is not first come, first served. I pick who I see fit. End of {story / discussion / argument / delete as applicable}.
2) Expect to die more & suceed less! No, I am not joking - see various points below.
3) I am leading this. Do not look to anyone else for orders.
4) You can sign up for the Balrog only, but you will be strictly a reserve. I am not dropping someone who helped clear on the first two days in favour of someone that didn't.
5) I do not like hanging around waiting. Please be courteous to everyone else by being on-time (note the slightly later start time). See also 7 below.
6) I am perfectly willing to experiment. This may mean trying out new tactics, going in with an unbalanced or short group, inexperienced raiders, or whatever. We ought to be good enough to cope.
7) I have a boot & I'm perfectly willing to use it. I would rather be under-strength than have to put up with an idiot that doesn't listen or an incompetent that can't play or learn. Either is more likely to wipe the entire group than being 1 or 2 short. If the Balrog can be done with 6 (allegedly), anything else can be dealt with too.
8) The Off-raid is, essentially, a training ground. If things go wrong, they go wrong. We've all got cash to spare for repairs, so don't whinge. Many in RRU have killed the Balrog numerous times, it’s no big deal. I don't care particularly if delays on earlier sections mean we don't get to him. That's life (or death, as the case may be...). Speaking of delays, be aware that on days 2 or 3, you may be starting from somewhere in the previous day's schedule!
9) Bearing in mind the previous clause, try to read the Raid Training Guide (http://annonamarth.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=366) so you know what's expected of you, especially in regards to using the TS channel, & Fellowship manoeuvres.
10) I've 20 years more practice at being a complete bastard than Rhy has. You would be unwise to forget this! ;)
Please all read this page (http://annonamarth.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=113) on what to bring.

Notiane should be able to go all 3 days, provided that she's not needed for the weekend rift, rolling for Haematite Band and nothing else.
(if it doesn't show or doesn't go to her, she'll unleash alll known fury of nature....be warned)
So...I do have locks now, still no Haematite band :(

First of all, Rukis, please make sure that you have read & understand the RRU loot rules. You must have all the armour from the preceding bosses (boots, legs, gloves, chest, helm) before you can be allowed to roll for Balrog drops. You also need to understand that until you are an accepted member of RRU, you are not permitted to roll on any teal drops from the Balrog; not gems, not trophies, not other teals. This rule is to protect dedicated RRU members from people who turn up only to grab Balrog loot & then are never seen again. I'm not suggesting you are one of those, but we have had trouble with that sort in the past, since we are known to be a group that regularly kill him. Lastly, please remember that you are only guaranteed a place on the run if your name is in red. As I expect to be leading the raid using my GDN, you are under consideration, but not guaranteed a place.

rolling for the chest.
depending on what you guys need (now and future) i'd prefer to raid just one character at a time till they're 'complete'. (i.e. so only one character has locks on any given week)
As a result Daxo (BRG) only needs the helm, so would only be rolling on that. I'm happy to help with stage 1 also if you need me, I don't mind at all.
Boykapi (MNS) is kindred with the Eldgang - but to truely understand how bad luck i have with rolls and how many times I've done Barz/Zurm/Frurz you'll have to refer to the fact that I only have the Boots, and nothing else(!!!!). Boykapi needs them all (except boots), but would prioritise the gloves first.
Letoya (CPT) is only 41 but I'm more than happy to bring her as an off-healer/buff machine. Her priority would be boots. (though udnerstandably she cant use them till she's 50, which will be about 3 weeks away).
Let me know if I'm needed :-)
I can come with my Hunter on all three days, rolling only on weapon. Given on how many lock my Captain is obtaining during the weekend run I might be able to join on the second and third day with her as well.

Taking a level 41 along is a waste of a raid slot. You would die from any decent crit. Level 48 is the minimum for Rift to be honest.
HI id like to come for all days.
Got 3/6 armour set so im rolling for the breastplate [narn].

rolling for the chest.
Congrats, Skel, you've just found a hole in our rules! You've asked to go on Day One (Friday) of the Regular, & Days Two & Three (Tue / Wed) of the Off. That in itself is fine, as there won't be any locking problems (if the Off runs to schedule anyway!). However, Rhy & I have realised there's another issue here. You've asked to roll on the gloves in the Regular & the chest in the Off.
According to the letter of our loot rules that might be considered legal - on the face of it, the Regular & Off are separate raids. The problem is that both Rhy & I agree this is against the spirit of the rules, because what you're effectively asking to do is roll for the gloves on Day One & the chest on Day Two - clearly not allowed. The point of the raid locking / resetting mechanism is that people can only raid the Rift once per week with a single alt. That RRU are now capable of raiding more than once per week was not anticipated when the loot rules were written originally.
We need to clarify this situation with the rest of the Raid Leaders & senior RRU members. In the meanwhile, since my Off Raids will always follow a Regular (if there is a Regular), I am going to make the following ruling:
No alt may make a gem roll in the Off raid if they have already done so in the Regular within that Raiding week (i.e. before locks reset). Further, an alt that has won a teal item in the Regular raid may not roll for any further teals in the Off raid within that Raiding week.
If you are running multiple alts, as many players are, that's different - this ruling applies to an individual alt, not individual players. However, be warned - if someone tries pulling a fast one by only attending one day of each run with different alts (either booked as such, or making excuses for absence) & takes 2 rolls, that may also be considered an abuse of the rules! The point of RRU is not just that we're successful, but that we're co-operative & supportive of each other. The Raid Leaders do keep an eye out for people who are looking after their own interests (& in the interests of clarity, I am not suggesting that Skel is one of these - this really is something that we'd only just realised could happen. Silly us! ).

no i know that, i'm not a moron :-)
(though in the same vein, you get 2 res's with a cpt, and like you said its better to haver 10 good players than 12 with 2 headless chickens - at least id not be a headless chicken haha)
i'm just saying - if everyone has the boots and you dont need a minstrel/burglar then i'd be happy to bring her along and ninja the loot haha.
my burglar had 2 items of the ettens and 2 of the rift stuff at level 44. it's not impossible - just usually improbable :-)
like i said though, mns/brg available and cpt will be soon.

As Rhy, says L41 is much too low. In all honesty, we prefer not to take alts below L50 - as you rightly point out, you can't use the gems before then & if you win one, that's just annoying for other people who lose out. Moreover, we have more than enough people these days that we really don't need to risk taking a sub-50 alt in. Your best bet is to level her out before applying for Rift raids (Hal's sometimes more flexible about Hele, which is harder to fill).
This time around, as I've already got 2 BRGs, but only one MNS so far, I'm much more likely to select Boykapi, just so's you know.
Hi,
Since the regular raid seems to be "over-minstreled" :'( for Sunday, so I'd be happy to come for day 3 to your off-raid. Please put me as <maybe>, depends on my lock from the w/e run.
Cheers
I just read Raed's post and I hope it's not against the spirit of anything, I just want to complete the run before the lock resets and of course have some fun with roggy. :P

i know, thats one of the reasons i prefer to raid 3 days, i could have always asked one ;) but im not that. :P
and a roll lost can happen thats the game.
im not found of the off raid see your point just one day raiding then a roll for one item, my point of vieu you must come 2 days for sure befor rolling a gem.
The Raid (& in the interests of clarity, I am not suggesting that Skel is one of these - this really is something that we'd only just realised could happen. Silly us! ).

:'( ooo good you sad that first line.
clever me  ;)
no i found the "hole" accidently ask rhy :Y (see his pm, and there il explained t)
the 2end question was not anserd btw.
ennitialy he anserd after my pm: fine, so after that i sight up for the off raid otherways i woulend do that :Y
so cancel this raid for me and accepting new rule im going to the other regular.
im only regret that you anserd this why, but t can happen a empty space, that live :P

Hi Skel,
The only reason I answered this way is because other people might also have spotted the same thing that Rhy did. I felt it needed to be clarified publicly, just in case! As I hope I made clear, there was no suggestion that you were deliberately trying to take advantage. It's entirely our fault for over-looking the possibility! :+
I'll cancel you for this Off raid. I was going to suggest you stick with rolling for the gloves in the Regular, anyway, because to be honest, you were unlikely to be selected for this raid, given that I've 3 other guardians, including myself, down for all 3 days.
Regards,
Rędwulf
sorry ppl, but it looks like this week i cannt come... but as i see, you got 2 otehr guards signed up so you shouldnt have any problem.. and good luck with killing them
Notiane
06 Sep 2008, 23:31
I guess you've noticed, but just for good messure, Notiane has locks up to Thaurlauch, so no go for Noti :(. Shouldn't be much of a problem, enough LM's signed up.
Should the need arise, Eldi only did day one (so got lock 4) and Noti day two (so could only join for Roggie) I'll be on line, so send a tell or ask in Raidsrus channel if your short. No, I do not mean if you're a dwarf or a hobbit....sigh...

Wont be making any of the days now.
can make monday on kalengtas if thats any use , boot roll , working backshift tues -wed :(
i too have been overloaded with work this morning, i dont think i'll be able to come this week sorry guys :-( ... let Bino take my slot?
- Boykapi
This is so uncertain that it might be of no use to you, but I might be able to send a Minstrel.
My hunter has lock on Balrog, and I would really like to go and hunt that down tonight... but if that fails then I will have a Minstrel at a loose end! :)
I realise this will only help if one or more fail to show.
If I don't get to hunt the Balrog with arrows then I shall come with lute and see if you need me! ;)
I usually raid with my kinship and finish on Sunday, so I normally can't attend this off-raid. However, on Sunday we failed to kill the Balrog (5 in the group hadn't seen him before). So I now have the Balrog lock and can help you Wed evening if you need.
I don't intend to roll on anything (even if I don't have shoulders/weapon/chain link - I have everything else). I'm just coming because you seem to need an extra captain and I am available. Plus, it's fun to see that Balrog dead :)
Sorry I didnt make a comment here, I thought you know I have lock 7 already from Rhy's run.
