A [s:2qeet5pc]couple of[/s:2qeet5pc] few points on tonights Raid

First of all the Raid Assist Window/Target is bugged....when you add or remove people as targets it disconnects random people from LOTRO (yes..completely dumps you :evil: ). So I will be setting the RAT at the begining and leaving it alone...so this is warning that this may cause you to disappear

Secondly we will be trialing some new loot rules, however there is also a bug (or strange intentional change by Turbine?) on the Concur Talismans...which now remain on a body like a traditional quest drop and you would need to loot each body to see if one has dropped for you....

Thirdly - Zaudru now appears to hit even more people with her eye poison on each attack...the trade off for this is that it no longer has a bomb effect. Still easy to lose lots of people though if 18+ people get hit

Finally - minor point of interest...the stupid wall that stuck out half way up the Giant climb (near drakey-poo) has been chopped off :roll:

Once again, I am really sorry for yesterday evening, but I guess you saw what "lag" I had. I have no idea what causes it. It's not graphics - even with everything at the lowest possible setting, it was the same. Moreover, it was not the client that was lagging (so not my PC), it was the client-server connection.

What is strange is that I had no problems in Helegrod before Book 14 and no problems at all in the Rift two days ago. Maybe 24 players + the monsters is now too much for my connection to keep up?

I don't know what to do for Wednesday evening... I will try different things tonight, but I am afraid the same thing will happen again if I go to Helegrod. So better try to make it without me :(

Many people seem to be suffering issues since Bk14, so I think they've mucked something up. There was a point early on in the last Off- raid where more or less the entire raid seemed to suffer at least one instance of 1-2s lag. This includes me, & I almost never suffer lag in a properly loaded area. When you consider that my Old PC (the new PC has unreliable TS, so the Old is the one I'm normally raiding on) is at least 4 years old, & its graphics are only 7800 (though, admittedly, dual SLI), I think you can rule out the PC as a problem. Turning some graphics settings down may improve matters, but isn't the root cause. And, except in the Moors where I routinely switch down to Low graphics, I normally run on Ultra-High (though only X9)!

Logically, the two likely sources of the problems are either something that COG have done to their gateways / servers, which has degraded dataflow; or Turbine have added a lot of extra data traffic, for some reason, in Bk14. Therefore, turning your graphics may help by reducing the amount of traffic; but when lag hits a whole raid simultaneously... you may be sure it's most likely a bottleneck server-side, not client-side!

Yup, definatly something mucked up in book 14. I've switched back to DX9 to have somewhat acceptable frame rates again.

Of course Ab did what all good Guardians should do - respond in a time of need, take the heat, get battered as much as possible, and peer wounded from behind his shield to see his fellows romp to victory...that's his story anyway.
