Does anyone else find it strange that "over the pond" they call this game "Low Tro"?

No xenophobic intentions or insult meant...but I just find it weird.

Not being a native speaker I'm not sure what you mean? Just the pronounciation or is 'low tro' a slang for something I haven't heard of?

Seen a few videos with Americans talking and that did catch my attention also. Most Europeans seem to pronounce it Loh-tro, whereas Americans go with Low-tro. Then again, saw a poll recently where apparently 90% of people pronounce GameFAQs as Game-Faks, so i'm usually suprised by at least one person's interpretation of a word, if not an entire nations.

I think it's rather nice.

We live in monoglot Britain so imagine how utterly bland it would be if everyone used similar pronunciation too...

I'd have to stop being charmed by the lovely variety of accents and start listening to what people were actually saying :D

If you listen to Mordor or Bust's podcast or probably any of their short videos, you can hear what Hal is talking about. http://www.mordororbust.com/

Given I started this game in the UK, I say it how you all do and find the American pronunciation strange. :P

Speaking of Americans... I have an American friend who would like to join RRU but cant join any of the raids because they are a bit too early for him, any chance of doing a few raids a bit later in the evenings? (and later on the days in the weekends? )

Raid times do vary. The constraints are that you need to allow for 3 hours minimum to get anywhere much (depending on where you're going), and that people mostly need to get up the next morning. As you will realise, we set times to UK, and Europe is another hour or more in front of that, so starting times later than 7:30PM become increasingly awkward for the majority of players. Speaking for myself I normally rise between 4:30 - 5AM, so you can see I'm not going to want to finish much beyond 10:30PM UK.

There's nothing to stop him joining anyway. RRU is not just about raiding. There are instance & skirmish groups that run later than that, and a few players are notorious late nighters. It depends on what he wants to do. He might not get as much chance as he'd like but, let's face it, if he doesn't join, he won't get any at all, and on the Euro servers he presumably faces the same problem with every organised group... ;)

I understand your point:) But say that there could be some raids in the weekends that are a bit later on the day, say DN, have one run arround noon and maybe have one arround 8pm (example). It is up to you folks, i just thought i'd mention it:)
