actually its not my birthday (that was in February) I just needed an excuse for a barbeque party in May and since I didnt have a party then I shall have one now - sort of ,)

But its quite amazing how the threat of: 'If you don't sign up early you might not get a place' has brought people to sign up like anything *grins* Anyways since you already got lots of signups and I dont really want to raid all the time anyways I shall cross fingers for you and wish you all the best of luck! Gogo give that Balrog a good kicking (or at least get further then yesterday!)

I'm willing to join aswell, it's a 50 GDN here. But i must aks that you put me as reserve or as a "possible" joiner. This because I tend to join in an other raid first, but sometimes they don't have room or they have to less ppl. So as said reserve or possible joiner for me. I would go for boots then.

ps: if i don't win the boots, (big chance since my rolls suck :? ), is it possible to roll on lets say the gloves? I've read the things about weapons and the Shoulder Guards so i won't ask after that :) . But a specification about my question about second roll would be nice :Y .

Boots are usually the thing that we throw away, as everyone has them by now. So your chances are pretty high.

The first raid used the new rules and it went pretty well.
Well so did the raid. At the time I left we downed our third boss.
The rest was going to continue a bit more so they might down another boss.

Have to say, the last two weeks we've been running have been a bit of a mess really. We try to form two groups because we have overflow from the main group, fail at it by about 5 or 6 members, then mix and match to create a functioning group and another group composed of mostly new players which as we have seen typically ends in failure. I think we need a formal way of setting up two groups ie, the sign up sheet shows which raid group the player will go into ahead of time. Something like this would help to enforce the so called 'first come first serve mentality' we are meant to use when forming groups and to avoid the issue of what seems to be happening which is almost all of the extra players getting shoved into a second group and the first group is just experienced members. Realistically in order to succeed, both groups need to have a max of 4 new members and at least one expereinced member in each of the core roles (so no two random minstrels/loremasters for example).

Just a rant to vent a bit as this current system we have isn't really working and seems to be leaving people frustrated or disappointed each week, especially as the second raid is usually disbanded after the first day.

So, a rundown on yesterday's Balrog fight.

The first attempt was not worth mentioning. Same old wiping. We wasted too many hope tokens and people were not paying enough attention to his "full attention" marker.

The second run went a lot better. Shortage of hope tokens got to us I think. We managed to kill the ever-seer but were stuck without hope tokens to continue the fight.

As I feel we're making good progress, we'll go in again tonight with the same group. There might be some replacements needed, as one or two people announced they were unable to attend tonight.
